Effective June 8th, MASC will alternate morning and evening practices.
Evening practices will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30-7:00 PM.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, practice will be held in the morning from 7:00-8:30 AM.
MASC is a non-profit, competitive swim club meeting at the James Buchanan High School in Mercersburg, PA. We provide the opportunity for swimmers ages 5-18 to compete and participate in an environment that is both supportive and fun. MASC gives young swimmers the chance to develop the necessary fundamentals for competitive swimming, while perfecting the skills of older, more experienced swimmers.
We are affiliated with the Central Penn Aquatic League (CPAL) in the winter season and with the Mid-Atlantic Summer Swim League (MASSL) in the summer season. These leagues offer dual meets and championships for members to build competitive experience.

Members of the swim club DO NOT have to be students of Tuscarora School District.
Swimmers ages 5 & older
Must be able to swim the length of a 25 yard pool, unassisted
*Coaches can provide input & suggestions for beginning swimmers prior to payment.

During practices, swimmers are arranged by age group and coached/trained accordingly. They learn the technical and fundamental aspects of the keystrokes: Freestyle, Backstroke, Butterfly, and Breaststroke.

Families can choose which days or nights to attend practice.
Swimmers are encouraged to attend 2 or more practices a week to improve their swimming abilities.
Swimmers should have a one piece swim suit and goggles. Swim caps are preferred for female swimmers and optional for male swimmers.
When facing the front of the school, door for swim practice and meet entrance is located on the right side of the building. Ample parking is usually available, but if full, there are lots in the front and rear of the building as well.

Swim meets are not possible without volunteers. This is a great opportunity to support both our swimmers and coaches. If you are unsure of a position, please ask! Most posititions can be trained the day of the event.
We are in desperate need of stroke and turn officials and a computer operator for meets. These positions require training from our league, which can be scheduled at your convenience. If you would be interested in one of these positions, please let a board member know.
